What to Expect at Our SEN Play Sessions
At our centres in Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster, we hold at least one dedicated SEN play session each month.
If you’re considering joining us for a session, but you’re unsure if it’s right for your child, then we’ve answered a few questions below.
What can my child and I expect?
During these sessions capacity is reduced, this is to give children and their families more space to play.
We lower the volume of the music and don’t make any loud announcements, to ensure children can enjoy a quieter and more relaxed play.
Age limits on our play frames are relaxed, so children can explore with no restrictions and play where they feel most comfortable.
Who can attend?
This session is exclusively for children with special educational needs and disabilities, and their families.
We ask that your child is either diagnosed with a SEND or is on the pathway to diagnosis. However, we don’t ask for proof on arrival.
We don’t charge for parents and carers. This is to ensure children can attend with as much support as they need to enjoy a comfortable, fun-filled play session.
Can I bring siblings along?
Yes, siblings are more than welcome, too!
Do I need to book?
We do recommend pre-booking these sessions on our website.
However, we do appreciate that for families with children with additional needs, plans often can change very last minute and therefore our standard cancellation policy doesn’t apply. If for any reason you can’t attend we will always move your booking to another session.
Follow our social channels for reminders of when the next SEN event is taking place.
If you have any more questions to allow you to better prepare for your visit then get in touch, we’re happy to help!
