When you’re a parent or carer of a child who can become easily overwhelmed in a noisy and bustling play centre, you tend to avoid visiting. However we believe at Play Valley that no child should miss out on our fantastic play centres! That’s why we started running our evening sessions, as we wanted to create a calm and relaxing space for SEN children to play. Here’s what you can expect at a Play Valley SEN Evening Session:
It’s a quiet setting
Both of our Play Valley sites can be bustling environments when they’re full of excited children running around, and we know for children with SEN needs that this can be overwhelming. In our SEN evening sessions we don’t play music, and instead try and create a more tranquil and relaxed environment.
We have a smaller number of visitors
As part of our aim to create a more welcoming environment, we have a smaller number of visitors so it doesn’t seem too daunting for your child. We want children to be able to enjoy the session and make the most of the facilities.
Every child can access every area
At Play Valley we have dedicated areas for under 2s, so they can enjoy the play centre away from the carnage of the bigger kids! During our SEN Evening Session we relax our rules so every visitor can access whatever area they choose. So whether it’s our smaller ball pool, underwater portal or bubble tube your child is interested in, they’re welcome to explore every area.
We run different activities each month
During the session we also run activities that vary from month to month, so there’s always something new to discover.
You can enjoy discounted entry
If you have a MAX card you can get half price entry. If not, our standard entry price applies or you can take advantage of our Play & Eat deal which costs just £6.50 per child and includes any kids’ meal.
We create space to escape
During our SEN Evening Session we reserve an area which is darker and quieter than the rest of the play centre. This is just to give you and your child a place to escape and relax.
We welcome siblings
If you want to bring along siblings then they’re more than welcome! Here’s a lovely review from one of our mums:

We create an inclusive community
Parents/carers will often visit our SEN sessions time and time again, so it’s a great chance to meet people in the area, and a chance for your child to become part of the big Play Valley family!
